Anthracite Power and Light and it's affiliated companies, returns approximately 88% of each dollar spent back to the communities we do business in. Supporting a local business assists the communities through a "multiplier effect": one dollar spent with Anthracite Power and Light will return five times that amount within the community through city taxes, employees' wages, and purchase of materials and supplies at other independent businesses. Anthracite Power and Light will continue to contribute a far greater proportion of revenues to local taxes and community development, school funding, and contributions to local non-profit organizations in the local regions.
Other out of State electric providers contribute roughly as little as 20% of their sales back into the community. They contribute nothing to employee wages, sales taxes, and property taxes.
